Scott Brown is the new president of the Lookout Mountain Rec Board, which is made up of parents who volunteer from both Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Lookout Mountain, Tenn. Working alongside Scott Shell, as well as the recreation director and commissioners from both municipalities, the board assists in planning and supporting each recreational season.
Scott was born and raised in Memphis and began playing sports at a very early age, participating in a variety of sports throughout his school years. His love of athletics continued into adulthood, where he played softball, kickball, and basketball. Today, he still enjoys playing golf and tennis and especially enjoys watching his two sons participate in the same sports. He loves watching them learn many of the same life lessons that sports taught him at their ages.
He is married to Chaille Brown, and together they have two sons, Toby and Cormac. The family moved from Atlanta to Lookout Mountain in June 2021, and the couple says they could not have chosen a better community in which to raise their children. Professionally, he serves as executive vice president and minority owner of a healthcare IT company. Chaille is the chief financial officer of Tinuiti, the largest independent performance marketing agency in the United States.
Scott was asked to join the recreation board in 2025 by John Tugman, the past president, and was elected president of the board in 2026 after John became a commissioner for the Town of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. As president of the recreation board, Scott hopes to expand the organization’s social media presence to better keep the community informed about programs, activities, and ongoing initiatives. He also hopes to continue the recent trend of increased participation in youth sports, with a particular focus on growing opportunities for girls’ sports, while creating additional recreational opportunities for children in Lookout Mountain and the surrounding communities. He is committed to building on the significant facility improvements completed in recent years under previous board leadership, including the addition of batting cages at the Commons, new dugouts and bleachers, and a new dirt infield at Senter Field, among other enhancements.
The Browns are a great addition to our mountain, and we know Scott will do a great job!
