Annual 4th of July Parade Is Soon!
Our annual 4th of July Parade is organized by our own Lookout Mountain chapter of the DAR. The Elizabeth Quatie Ross Chapter spends months planning and organizing the parade for our wonderful community. Each year its members strive to make a better parade and event for our community.
Float/Truck
If you would like to enter your float or truck in the parade, please sign up at july4thparade.lookoutmtnga.com. You might win best float by having an inventive theme like last year’s “Washington Crossing the Delaware.” Walkers, bikers, and golf carts do not need to sign up - just show up at 10 a.m. at the Fairyland Mountain Hall and look for Justin Workman to direct you where to go.
Pie Baking Contest
Last year we saw the introduction of a pie baking contest and will have another this year! Entries are brought to the Fairyland Mountain Hall on July 3 by 5 p.m. If you are interested in participating, all you need to do is bake your pie, put your name on the bottom of the pan and leave it at the at the city hall in Lookout Mountain, Ga. Make sure to attend the parade festivities at the Commons to see if you have won!
Veterans Float
Each year we see more and more of our wonderful Lookout Mountain Veterans riding in our Veterans Float, lovingly arranged and decorated by the chapter ladies. If you are a Veteran and would like to ride the float, please contact Jennifer Dyhr at [email protected].
At the Commons
Food trucks, music, and awards will be held at the Commons immediately following the end of the parade.
Booths at the Commons
If you are a nonprofit and wish to set up a booth at the Commons, please contact [email protected] to make arrangements.
