Planned to be held on the Café on the Corner’s patio with a coffee truck, Coffee for Cops moved across the street due to COVID-19 and public safety. Another change regarded the hours of the event, scheduled for 8-10 a.m. But the cars just kept on coming, so the Newberrys decided to stay there longer.
So many of you supported this event with donations, as well as with handwritten notes expressing appreciation to the police departments in both Lookout Mountain towns keeping us safe. The Market on the Mountain added a pound of ground coffee to the collection, and the Mountain Escape Spa donated gift certificates to all officers for discounted massages. Lots of folks conducting business as usual at the post office stopped what they were doing and made a beeline to the table to make a donation. It was truly a beautiful and memorable day.
