One great way to give locally is to support the Lookout Mountain Employees Christmas Fund. A committee consisting of Roy Exum, George McGee, Leslie Davenport, Peter Avisto and Greg Brown sent a letter to Lookout Mountain, Tenn. and Georgia, residents asking for for residents’ help recognizing the contributions of town employees.
This tradition of giving dates back to 1948, that’s 67 years our mountain’s residents have helped thank town employees during the holiday season. The fire, police and service personnel have been ready for emergencies, storms and school patrols. In addition, we all take advantage of our fantastic playground and parks, which are maintained by town employees.
During a special holiday breakfast later this month, the Lookout Mountain, Tenn. mayor and commissioners will thank the town’s 34 employees and give them a cash gift from your contribution.
While any gift is appreciated, the committee is asking that each family send $45 or more to bolster the fund. Make the check payable to Lookout Mountain Employees Christmas Fund and mail it to PO Box 178, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350.
To contribute to the Georgia employees Christmas Fund, send a check to: Employee Annual Christmas Fund, City Hall, 1214 Lula Lake Rd., Lookout Mountain, GA 30750.
