Characters from “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel,” “Cinderella” and other fairy tales are interwoven in a story that tells of a baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family. True to form, this fairy tale involves a witch’s curse and moral lessons as the main characters interact with the others and face consequences along their journey. GPS is collaborating with Brenda Schwab, resident costume designer at Chattanooga State, for the extensive costuming needed.
Directing the musical is new GPS Theatre Director Erin Schmidt, a master acting teacher and former teaching artist and stage director. She received her MFA in acting from the Actors Studio Drama School in NYC, where she received the prestigious Shubert Scholarship for Excellence. She is a member of the Actors Equity Association. Mike Lees is the musical director.
