While you’re at the pharmacy, go next door and find special and unique gifts from around the world at Michelle Workman Home. With a selection of new, vintage and antique goods, home furnishings, art, and accessories, you will be able to find that special something - from Italian bedding to custom pillows, vintage glassware and tabletop decor. Drop in during the open house Saturday, December 7, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Market on the Mountain has lots of new goodies for the holidays that are wonderful for hostess gifts and also great for entertaining. Chocolate Heaven frozen baked goods are always delicious, and there is an even wider selection this year. Choose from pecan and key lime pies, banana bread, flourless caramel cakes, as well as Garden Delights butterscotch and fudge pies. You will also find Tennessee Cheesecake's fudge and chess pies and sliced and ready to bake homemade pecan cheese straws. And let’s not forget the metal tins of Sin in a Tin, which is a chocolate dessert that should be outlawed because it is that good. There is also a huge selection of jams and jellies, gourmet cookies, Alchemy Spices, as well as homemade gourmet cookies and slices of homemade cakes, and holiday gift baskets to boot. Of course, the deli is always stocked with homemade soups and ready-to-serve entrees. There are always staples for all your holiday cooking needs, and you are invited to sample lots of yummy treats at the open house on December 7!
The Mountain Escape Spa does not disappoint this Christmas, with many delightful gifts for all ages. There are candles, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, Christmas decorations, umbrellas, fur-trimmed gloves, brightly colored scarves, super soft jackets and sweaters, jewelry cases and cosmetic bags, robes, slippers, jewelry and more! It reminds me of a treasure hunt because everywhere you look, you discover something else. The spa will host its annual Christmas open house December 6-7, and merchandise will be discounted. On Saturday, local artist Aimee Campbell Lurey of McVea Designs will present a jewelry trunk show. The store looks very festive with its Christmas tree and wreaths, and it really puts you into the Christmas spirit. You will find a huge selection of gifts that are very affordable, and I am sure that I will be purchasing several things for my daughter in laws and maybe a few things for myself!
Don’t forget that all of our shops, including Café on the Corner, offer gift certificates, which make fabulous presents!
This is always one of my favorite articles to write because it reminds me of how special our mountain is and how much it has to offer. Happy holidays and happy shopping!
